Hairspray, lotion, and perfume can be damaging to certain types of metals and coloured gems. Precious metals are especially susceptible to discoloration from these everyday care products. When getting ready in the morning or preparing for a night out, set your jewellery aside, or better yet, leave your jewellery in its case until you’re ready to wear it.
For most minerals, it is recommended to use warm water, mild soapy water, and soft brush to clean and wipe dry with Jewellery or microfibre cloth to maintain its shine and lustre.
For some minerals, example Turquoise and pearls, store them on a soft surface, ideally not stacked together. Avoid exposure with water and harsh chemicals like perfume and detergents. Wipe with damp, soft cloth.
Store delicate jewellery in a dark and dry location. Ideally keep your pieces organized and separated. For jewellery with nickel-free brass, sterling silver and thickly plated 14kt gold, it is recommended to store them in self-sealing bags to minimised possibility of tarnish
